Photo Day Assistant
About the job
This One Counts is the sports and high-volume portrait division of Sarah Gallagher Studios. We photograph youth athletes, teams, leagues, and busy photo days throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut.
We’re a small, scrappy team that brings enthusiasm to a clear system, steady energy to busy photo days, and a real focus on helping kids look confident while keeping everything moving.
We’re looking for people who bring common sense, clear communication, and a positive attitude to busy photo days. No photography experience needed. No equipment needed. We’ll train you on the system so you can do the job well.
This is not a camera job — it’s a people job.
You’ll work beside the photographer to help pose athletes, demonstrate simple stances, fix small details, keep the line moving, and help photo day feel organized, upbeat, and efficient.
A good fit is someone who:
- Brings energy and enthusiasm to the work
- Acts as a role model — showing respect, teamwork, and a great attitude
- Communicates clearly so kids know what’s going on and what comes next
- Is positive and professional with young people
- Knows how to balance fun with structure, respect, and focus
- Stays calm and focused when the pace picks up
- Is punctual and dependable
- Has reliable transportation
- Is comfortable demonstrating simple poses or athletic stances
Pay is $25/hour on photo days. Most work is evenings and weekends, with seasonal hours during busy sports seasons.
Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Candidates under 18 must provide any required work permit or working papers.
